Big Windermere Survey

The Big Windermere Survey is a Citizen Science project run in partnership with Lancaster University. To date, we’ve carried out five rounds of the Big Windermere Survey during spring, summer, autumn and winter, providing a snapshot of Windermere water quality during each season of the year.
Having now commenced year two, the sixth (Autumn 2023) round of the Big Windermere Survey is taking place on Sunday 26 November between 10 and 12 O’clock in the morning.
We’ll be collecting water samples from around 100 onshore and offshore sites around the lake and need your help to do so! No previous experience is necessary and it’s a fun day out for all!
