Big Windermere Survey

The Big Windermere Survey is a Citizen Science project run in partnership with Lancaster University. The Big Windermere Survey takes place every year during spring, summer, autumn and winter, providing a snapshot of Windermere water quality during each season of the year.
To kick off 2024, this year’s winter survey will take place on Sunday 18 February between 10 and 12 O’clock in the morning.
We’ll be collecting water samples from around 100 onshore and offshore sites around the lake and need your help to do so! No previous experience is necessary and it’s a fun day out for all!
