Big Windermere Survey

The Big Windermere Survey is a Citizen Science project run in partnership with Lancaster University. The project takes place every year during spring, summer, autumn and winter, providing a snapshot of Windermere water quality during each season of the year.

Our spring survey will take place on Sunday 12th May between 10:00 and 12:00 in the morning.

We will be collecting water quality samples from around 100 onshore and offshore sites around the lake and need your help to do so!

This is our 8th survey to date and will finish off our second year for the survey gathering water quality data for the Leven catchment.

No previous experience is necessary. We provide simple step-by-step guides, and it’s a fun day out for all! To get involved, register as a volunteer by emailing us at: windermere@fba.org.uk.
