Big Windermere Survey

The Big Windermere Survey is a Citizen Science project run in partnership with Lancaster University. The project takes place every year during spring, summer, autumn and winter, providing a snapshot of Windermere water quality during each season of the year.

Our summer survey will take place on Sunday 8th September between 10:00 and 12:00 in the morning.

We will be collecting water quality samples from around 100 onshore and offshore locations around the lake and need your help to do so!

This is our 9th survey to date and will kick off our third year for the survey gathering water quality data for the Leven catchment.

No previous experience is needed to volunteer. We provide simple step-by-step guides, and it’s a fun day out for all! To get involved and find out more information, sign up on our Big Windermere Survey page.
